Sunday School

Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not turn away from it.  This verse is taken in its true spirit by the leaders of Calvary Baptist Church and gave utmost importance to Sunday school ministry. In the year 1913, Miss Blackdar (Missionary from Canada) rented a house and started a Sunday school. This Sunday school grew up and resulted in formation of a Church in the year 1948, named, Calvary Baptist Church. By the year 1974, around 100 children attended Sunday school.  Currently 400 children are attending Calvary Sunday school.  Around 20 teachers were trained to impart Godly knowledge to these kids in Sunday school.  The history proves that the products of Calvary Sunday School are the best where ever they are placed.

The Sunday School is conducted between 8:00 am to 10: am. The Church provides the required finances for the development of Sunday school teachers and children.  The Church also conducts special programs for the Skills development of the Sunday School Teachers. On Christmas eve, many competitions are being conducted and suitable prizes will be given to the Sunday school children.  Calvary Baptist Church, Sunday school children proved the best whenever they participate in various competitions in and around the city churches.  On every Palm Sunday, a special procession is done by Sunday school children on the streets of Visakhapatnam City. The Sunday school ministry is not only limited to Christians but even to non-Christian kids alike.
